“O’Brothers, not just an exclamation, is home of the 100% organic beef burger and after just one bite, you might up and very shortly say O Brother!” – with quips like this, why wouldn’t you want to read the latest reviews of O’Brothers in Powerplayer Magazine and one of our favorite local foodie blogs, San Diego Food Stuff with Caron Golden.

Thank you Caron and Asmita for giving O’Brothers a taste!

We are really excited to share some of our coverage in the media from the last few weeks as people continue to discover O’Brothers and our mission to deliver the greatest tasting burgers. Period.

The Daily Transcript posted a great write up about our mission and growth since launching in February 2009: Read: All organic burger joint thrives downtown

QSR Magazine, the quick service industry Bible talked with me about the decision to serve wine at a fast casual restaurant for their July cover story. Read: The Grapes of Cash

Finally, Ron Donoho of SanDiego.com and NBC came in to try an O’Brothers burger after he saw our favorite film Food Inc…don’t forget to bring in your movie ticket to O’Bros. Read: Healthy Food: On Film, On the Plate

Thank you everyone for spreading the word and supporting O’Brothers!

If you want to know what food and restaurant critic, Peter Rowe, of the San Diego Union-Tribune thought about O’Brothers check out his review! We’ve listed the highlights for you O’Bros fans looking for a quick read.

THE BUZZ

O’BROTHERS, 188 Horton Plaza, downtown; (619) 615-0909; lunch and dinner daily

THE FOOD: Organic burgers, salads, fries and onion rings.

THE SCENE: Narrow, light-filled room is stylish but relaxed. Across from Victoria’s Secret and above Levi’s, it’s part of Horton Plaza yet apart from the hubbub.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Burgers (served with salad), $7.75 to $9.50; Cobb salad, $9.25; organic sodas, $2.50; beer, $4 to $9; wine, $4.75 to $10 per glass or $17.50 to $37.50 by the bottle.

DON’T MISS: The Big O’, a deliciously busy bacon-cheese-avocado burger, $9.50; the mammoth portobello veggie burger, $7.25; the surprisingly large and pleasingly fresh salads that accompany every sandwich.

So Craig (my brother) cought the 2:10 showing of  Food Inc, the movie.  Before it ends, like 10 minutes before, he decides to address the entire theatre.  He introduces himself and tells everyone all about O’Brothers. He continues to tell all the theatre go’ers that if they mention his name their entire meal will be picked-up by us!! Holy S!%&*, I say. “You got to be kidding me”. He responds with that there were only 30 or so, but still.

He went back to sit through a second showing (I know, he’s a nut) of the same show. Yes, he addressed the theatre yet again, but this time he handed out free burger cards instead.  Much better.  Hopefully we’ll see some redemptions.

Here at the restaurant right now and I got talking to a customer who told me that their child has Asperger Syndrome.  She went on to say the they’ve started him on a strict diet of 100% organic food and that they’re witnessing startling changes.

Do you think this speaks VOLUMES for organics!?

We recently hosted a great group of people from the San Diego Twitter community for a monthly event called a tWineUp. On June 12th, 80 plus local Twitter users and guests drank wine, enjoyed our fantastic organic burgers, and networked with each other. I highly recommend going to the July tWineUp!

Square Martini Media has some great photos of the event HERE and Ricardo Villarreal (www.twitter.com/skovi) put together a fun video of the evening.
Thanks to everyone that came by.
